2018 Review
Philip's highlights of 2018 included two major musical projects.
To mark the RAF centenary year, Philip and Bryan had been commissioned to write another show for Bentley Priory Museum. This followed the success of their Fighter Command and the Battle for Britain in 2015. A cast of 75 performed their new piece called, Flying without Feathers. It was an outstanding success with full houses and almost 100% audience feedback. Details and a partial live recording can be found at https://musicforchoirs.weebly.com/raf100.html
An unexpected add-on to Flying without Feathers was being asked to provide a small choir to welcome the RAF100 baton to Bentley Priory Museum on the first day of its nationwide tour.
To mark the centenary of the end of WW1, the Museum also asked for a revival of November 2017’s Beyond the Trenches (songs from the first world war at home and beyond) show that Philip and Bryan devised. Once again this was very well received, especially some original songs that Philip and Bryan had written.
Tonic Choir has just started its tenth year which will culminate in a gala concert next November.
The choir continues to run well. Four base choirs meet weekly and Tonic Extra meets for additional work and projects.

Finally, one very special highlight of the year was watching friend, Nadine Benjamin, make her double (and highly acclaimed) debut at the English National Opera, as Clara in Porgy and Bess (singing Summertime) and then as Musetta in La Boheme. She also released a CD. I performed with Nadine back in 2011 and she sang with Tonic Choir later that same year. We are eagerly awaiting her return to Tonic in 2019.
